Spoon River Anthology

Mark your calendars for Greely Drama's spring production of Spoon River Anthology. This play with music is based on the classic cycle of poems written by Edgar Lee Masters at the turn of the twentieth century and tells "behind the scenes" stories of more than seventy characters. Based in a small town in middle America, these individuals recall their lives, loves, and struggles.  Each of the twenty-two students in the ensemble is challenged to create multiple, distinct characters of many ages and backgrounds. Traditional songs from the era are woven into the play.  The vocalists are accompanied by two high school musicians on violin and guitar.
An enthusiastic production crew of more than forty additional students is working on the set, lighting, costumes, projections, makeup, program, and publicity.

Performances are Thursday and Friday March 20 and 21, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday March 22 as a dinner theatre performance. Reservations are required and must be prepaid for dinner theatre as this show sells out quickly. Seating for dinner is at 6:00 p.m.
